The 27-year-old left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq was asked about the possible inclusion of Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Haris, both batters are known for their explosive batting styles, in the Pakistan ODI side during a recent post-match press conference.

Answering the question, Imam said "We do not have time for experiments. I believe that Salman Agha, Muhammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan are capable of power-hitting, we just need to give them enough confidence."

He also talked about how difficult it is to bat at number six as there are not enough overs to settle down.

"It is very difficult to bat at number six, as they only get to play 6-7 overs. We need to continue with the current lower middle-order to give them enough confidence," he said.

He praised Salman Agha for his valuable contribution of 31 runs in 29 balls and a good bowling spell, figures of 1-42 in nine overs, and also talked about Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan.

"Agha did really well today. He scored 31 and took a wicket as well. Nawaz and Shadab are also really good hitters and all-rounders," he said.

It must be noted that Pakistan registered their first ODI series win over New Zealand in 12 years with a hard-fought 26-run victory in the third match in Karachi on Wednesday.

Imam scored a 107-ball 90 while Babar Azam made a 62-ball 54 for his 26th ODI half-century to guide Pakistan to 287-6 in their 50 overs.

Opener Tom Blundell hit 65 for New Zealand while debutant Cole McConchie struck an undefeated 45-ball 64 but the visitors were bowled out for 261 in 49.1 overs.

Pakistan, who won the first two matches by five and seven wickets respectively in Rawalpindi, took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

The last two matches are on Friday and Sunday, also in Karachi.

Pakistan´s last ODI series win over New Zealand was in 2011 and since then they had lost six of the seven series, with one drawn.
